Previously, the annual billing of permit fees has been done separately by each National Forest. Starting this year, a National Billing Team will send bills by email, if the Forest Service has your email address. If you do not receive your annual bill by December 8, 2021, you need to contact the Billing Team at sm.fs.wonbt@usda.gov. Under new regulations, the USFS will be less flexible regarding past due permit fee payments. Late fees and interest will be charged if payment is not received by January 31. In addition, your permit is subject to revocation if the annual fee is not paid by March 31.
If you are the Primary Billing Contact for your cabin, and you are not sure whether the USFS has your correct email address, you can submit or update your contact information to the USDA Forest Service by following this link to the USFS Contact Form. If you have any questions, please contact the USFS directly at sm.fs.wonbt@usda.gov
You may also email our Special Uses Administrator, Casey Shaffer at casey.shaffer@usda.gov with the following:
Identify your Tract Name (i.e., Big Bear Tract) and your Cabin Number;
Provide the Permit Holder’s name (as shown on previous bills), email, phone number(s) and mailing address.
